Desktop Tower Defense
by Maarten
Desktop Tower Defense (DTD) is a golden oldie that remains to be addictive. It’s a great form of a tower defense game, in which your desktop (not the virtual one…) is flooded by little creatures. And of course, you can’t allow them to reach whatevers on the other side of your desktop, so engage them by building towers!
There’s one difference between DTD and other tower defense games: you can build your towers everywhere you want. No predefined paths in this game, construct your own path and exploit the different types of towers so no one – and I mean no one – escapes. Building the best maze is the real challenge of this game, just take a look at all the mazes posted on Youtube.
Try it out at http://www.handdrawngames.com/DesktopTD/game3.asp! ”The 100″ in Challenge mode is pretty difficult, never made it further than level 68 using a maze of my own…
It’s pretty good but I don’t like the interface. If you’re really looking for a challenge search for VectorTD, one of the best tower defense games around.
Well, it is indeed quite fun, but what I love about Desktop TD is the fact that you can create your own path using towers. I miss that in VectorTD too :)
Althoug I have to admit I’m fairly addicted at the moment :D
