Personalized Chuck Norris Joke WordPress Plugin

Chuck Norris once ordered a Big Mac at Burger King, and got one.

Personally, I love Chuck Norris jokes, can’t get enough of them. But there isn’t a good repository of these jokes on the web – yet. Recently, I started an online Chuck Norris jokes database. Now, I’m working on sharing this database, and a WordPress plugin is a good way to start.

Actually, there are two plugins. The first one shows a random Chuck Norris joke on your website, ”Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.” It’s simple, but adds some flavor. If this is enough for you, use that one. The second plugin, the one we are talking about here, extends the first one by giving you the opportunity to star in the jokes yourself: ”Maarten Decat can touch MC Hammer.”

The plugin is available for download at the WordPress Plugin Repository.

How to install the plugin

To install this plugin:
  1. Download the plugin and extract the contents.
  2. Upload `personalized-chuck-norris-jokes.php` to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory.
  3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  4. Drag the “Personalized Chuck Norris Joke” widget in a widget area through the ‘Appearance – Widgets’ menu.
  5. Adjust the name of the main character in the joke or keep the default settings. Then press save and close.
